WHO AM I?

I am Kate Bevilacqua, an up and coming performer finishing my BFA in Comprehensive Musical Theatre at the University of Miami.

My obsession with theatre started at the age of 8 when my mom showed me the 1982 Annie. After that, I was sold. I wore that token curly wig and red Christmas dress for two Halloweens in a row. (See exhibit A.) My parents promptly enrolled me in voice lessons so I could sing somewhere else besides the shower, and pretty soon, that love for singing bloomed into a love for storytelling. Now it’s not just theatre that I love- I strive to work on camera, through voiceover, songwriting and more!

These days, if I’m not trimming my own bangs, you’re more than likely to find me on my couch watching Sex and the City with my cat and a mug of miso soup- or, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch me yelling at my sewing machine. I say only if you’re lucky because my Singer and I are in a fight right now. I’m a huge cat person and I hope to have a house full of them one day. I’m a nail-biter, I prefer a podcast over music in the morning, I’m deeply curious about the world- and I’m especially fascinated by cruise ships and maritime disasters.

Honesty is my mission statement. In every character I portray, I bring a unique and empathetic perspective. Working with me means a lot of play, while also prioritizing organization and efficiency. Most of all, working with me means I get a chance to express the overflowing joy that comes from telling a story. Nothing makes me happier.
